Market Musing

Today is August 29th, the last few days of the month are just ahead;  we're coasting into Labor Day Weekend!  Wow, how did that happen?  We’ve been through asparagus, fiddleheads, rhubarb, strawberries (they’re back!), raspberries, wild blueberries and now the early summer apples are in the Market – Jersey Macs!  A nice eating apple for right now; and they aren’t too big so a great snack for young small folks in your house.

Yesterday we held our end of the season lunch where we say farewell to our university students and thank everyone for their great efforts during the busy summer season.

There is something about the change of seasons that bring comfort and structure to our lives.  The cooler mornings of the last week, the darker evenings and the odd red leaf are indications  that  fall is just around the corner.  We love fall here at the Market, the colors, the crisp air, the sweater weather, the abundance of the harvest and the preparations for inside living.  We are ready to enjoy September.

We hope you enjoyed your summer holidays and feel rested and revived.  We will be open all  tweekend as the summer winds down and the best, most predicable weather shows up along with all the fall harvest and fun activities.

Enjoy your last celebrations of summer 2018 this weekend!
