June in the Garden

Plant containers & hanging baskets with veggies, herbs and flowers

 

Bug watch—keep an eye out for insect activity and treat immediately with

Organic or chemical solutions

 

Water newly planted trees and shrubs on a weekly basis if they weather

is dry

 

Finish planting flower and vegetable gardens

 

Prune rhododendrons and azaleas after they have bloomed, apply second

application of fertilizer

 

Tackle lawn pests

 

Water Wisely – best to give a good deep watering once a week.  Use a

soaker hose that allows water to slowly penetrate the ground and reach

deep down to the root system
